1. Sparking creativity

A yearning to start your creative adventure... You're ready to dive in!

You are standing on the precipice... ready to explore new things...

Here is the link to the suggested exercise...
If you are new to painting or if you want to go back to basics, go to:

FUNdamental Colour Theory

OR choose an exercise from the Resource Hub which is right for you! Allow your intuition to guide you and choose ANY exercise in the Hub that attracts you.

  • This spark might be right at the beginning of your artistic journey.
  • OR might happen over and over again during your creative life.
  • It could feel like an awakening.
  • A very intense urge to discover more.
  • It's impossible to resist.
  • And feels like a huge sigh of relief to honour your inner knowing.

"And the day came when the risk
to remain tight in a bud
was more painful
than the risk it took
to blossom"

Anais Nin

Actions to take

  • Get a journal or visual art diary & start expressing how you feel right now about where you're at and if you relate to 'sparking your creativity'.
  • Show up bravely to create.
  • Set aside time to paint or draw.
  • Make a commitment to yourself.

2. Explore

Excited and exploring new ideas bravely.

The suggested exercise for feeling like a brave adventurer is:

Abstract Musical Paintings

This is an exercise that you can return to over and over with very different experiences...

Or choose any exercise that is calling to you.

  • Focus on
  • Feeling like an adventurer
  • Be aware of any increase in your level of focus or increased level of interest.
  • Observe your inner voice.
  • Remind yourself that you are safe.
  • And that you are worthy of this dedication to yourself.

"Serious Art is born from serious PLAY"

Julia Cameron

Actions to take:

  • Ask yourself what you are interested in exploring.
  • Pause and ponder and write in your journal. Where are you now? and what are your hopes and dreams?
  • CREATE

If you have done Musical Paintings before:

  • Notice what feels different this time - are you feeling freer?
  • Has any expectation for an outcome shifted?
  • Is your inner critic quieter?

3. Trusting the Process

Shifting the focus from the outcome, to ENJOYING the process and Letting Go....

The suggested exercise for this week is:

To See Or Not To See

Or any exercise you want to explore.

  • Trusting your ability.
  • Less comparing to others and less attachment to perfectionism.
  • Noticing that you can just be in the moment.
  • Worries fade away as all your attention is laser focused on your process.

"I've learned so much from my mistakes,
I'm thinking of making a few more"

Actions to take

  • Try this weeks exercise as an experience rather than making an artwork.
  • Too See Or Not To See forces you to relinquish control.
  • Reflect of your experience and journal about it.
  • Were you able to Let Go... and have an experience without any desire for an outcome?

4. Deepening + Feelings of Freedom

Sinking into a deeper state as you paint or draw...
And experiencing moments of Delight... Bliss...

FUNdamental Life Drawing

A little note about the Life Drawing Lesson on offer. I have found life drawing to be one of the most joyful and exciting ways to access a Flow State...  ❤️ with and an attitude of doing it for fun, for the experience, not the outcome.

  • Feeling much more confident.
  • Much more comfortable with paint.
  • Daring to try new things bravely.
  • Enjoying the paint as a material and discovering what techniques you love.
  • And enjoying taking risks.
  • You're comfortable to interpret the exercise in your own personal way.
  • Expressing personal meaning in your paintings.
  • You're accessing the Creative Zone... 'Flow State' through a playful approach.
